Stars I discovered/grew to love/admire:

Robert Donat
Deborah Kerr
Glynis Johns
Rossano Brazzi

Really discovered these three at the end of last year (had seen Kerr and Johns in other movies previously). Don't really know why I left Johns off of last years list.

Had seen Brazzi in several movies before but was unimpressed until this year
when I watched South Pacific which started a major (ongoing) crush.

  1. Whoa! You watched a lot in 2018! I don't believe that I've seen any of your favorites though. I've seen South Pacific once, and I didn't like it at the time, but I think I might now.

    1. It's nearly 50 down from last year! However, I did go out of town for over a month. I would highly recommend Battleground. I want to get it on bluray as the cinematography is absolutely breathtaking!

I didn't like all of South Pacific. Some of it was a little corny but I enjoyed it a lot more than I had anticipated.

  2. What a fun batch of stats! I finally got to see Raiders of the Lost Ark on the big screen this year, which was amazing. It was a staple of my teen years, and I still love it dearly.

  3. Wow, very impressive!! I finally watched the Indiana Jones movies last year too, though, I still can't figure out why exactly it took me so long to get to them.

"Summertime" is one I keep meaning to see and was all ready to include it in a Hepburn mini-marathon, but then I watched "The Christmas that Almost Wasn't" and am pretty sure I've had enough of Brazzi for awhile. :p

    1. There's a lot of "classics" that I know I'll watch one day but I just take a long time to actually watch them despite having the opportunity several times.

Sometimes you have to wait to be in a certain mood to watch a movie so it's wise of you to wait for Summertime :)

  4. Rossano Brazzi is so handsome! However I must admit I'm not too much a fan of South Pacific. I'm impressed by the number of films you watched! It always amazed me when people think classic films are hard to find. They aren't at all!

    1. I didn't particularly like a lot of SP, it just made me see Brazzi differently. And yes! While most of the movies I watched were from TCM which not everyone has, if I didn't have it I would still have been able to see many new-to-me old movies!
