Movies I Watched in October

This shot of Lauren Bacall in The Mirror Has Two Faces
reminded me of this photo of Bacall with her mother :)

Anyone who is NOT a Jeff Bridges fan is going to find this month very boring lol. I almost exclusively watched his movies (and rewatched three of them). They are very easy to find for free on Tubi and YouTube (and a few on ok.ru). I also watched episodes of The Loner, Lassie, and The FBI that he guest starred in early in his career.

Least Favorite Film: Watched half of Bad Company (1972) but wasn't liking it. Also should have remembered to look at the parent guide for a couple of these movies. Winter Kills had sudden nudity (not the kind you can tell is coming and prepare to skip). 8 Million Ways to Die should have been named "8 Million F-words"... Still have an hour left of Bad Times... but not sure if I will finish it. It's pretty violent.

Favorite Movie: You Gotta Stay Happy was so funny!!! My brother bought a James Stewart dvd collection with this movie on it. Neither of us had ever heard of it but it sounded funny. Eddie Albert plays a character similar to his character in Roman Holiday and Percy Kilbride is Percy Kilbride. Highly recommend. A great family movie!

I LOVED Starman. I plan on buying the steelbook for it, as it seems to be the one with the most special features. I also really liked The Mirror Has Two Faces. I watched both of them twice :) The scene in Kiss Me Goodbye with Mildred Natwick was hilarious!! I love her so much lol. The rest of the movie was ok. I like James Caan but his character (a ghost) kind of got on my nerves. I also really liked Tron, Nadine, The Morning After, and Blown Away.

Favorite Quote:

From Tron
"Computers are just machines, they can't think."
"Programs will be thinking soon."
"Won't that be grand. The computers and programs will start thinking and the people will stop!"

This entire exchange from The Morning After (at the 1 hour and 1 min. mark)
Jane: You're a great reader, huh?
Jeff: Oh, uh, those? Well, no, I mean, uh, I plan on readin' them when I, when I have the time, you know. I just, uh, buy books. Quarter a piece sometimes, uh, Santa Monica, even out-a-town sometimes. Can't resist all the, all the subjects that interest me. I'll get to 'em.
Jane: What's keeping you so busy?
Jeff: Oh, you know. Nothin'. Daily life.
Jane: That'll do it, daily life... Oh my god, Nancy Drew?! It's a complete set!
Jeff: Yeah, I'm savin' those for, uh, for my daughter. Only she just, she just told me that's she's too old for 'em now.
Jane: Too old? Oh! I've always loved her! Oh god, Nancy Drew? She's so smart and outgoing and...
Jeff: Do you want 'em?
Jane: What!?
Jeff: You can have 'em if you like.
Jane: Oh no, I couldn't.
Jeff: Why not?
Jane: No really.
Jeff: Please!
Jane: Are you sure?
Jeff: Positive!
Jane: Alright.
Jeff: Good!
Jane: I'd love them!!
