Loved reading your stats! I too keep track of the movies (and tv series) I watch. This past year I discovered Eleanor Powell and Gordon McRae and don't know how it took me so long!

DeleteIt’s on the WatchTCM app until the 14th, if you haven’t seen it yet. I’m obsessed with the way he gets his hair out of his face near the beginning of the movie by throwing his head straight back.

ReplyDeleteMy hospital stay last year got me out of the habit of keeping records regarding my movie viewing. I guess it is not too far into 2022 to return to it.

DeleteI do keep track of all the movies I watch, and all the books I read too. And I've done so for decades, which is really fun to look back through. You watched about twice as many movies as I did this past year, but that's pretty par for the course.
ReplyDeleteI developed a fondness for Errol Flynn this past year. Not a crush, not a new favorite star, just a realization that I very much enjoy his movies and wouldn't mind seeing more, so I started watching more of them :-)
That reminds me, I wanted to make a chart to compare my stats for the past five years...
DeleteLately my discoveries have been mostly crushes but sometimes I see an old familiar star in a certain movie that causes me to rethink how I viewed them and then I want to watch as many of their movies as possible and rewatch the others in this new light. Flynn’s movies are almost always good, fun adventure. I picked up his autobiography a couple years ago for a few bucks but have only flipped through and read the (usually brief) remarks on his film memories. Not sure I’ll ever read it cover to cover ;) The book “Errol and Olivia: Ego and Obsession” by Robert Matzen is really good, especially the chapters on their movies.
Yeeeeeeeah... Errol Flynn is one of those actors that I enjoy watching onscreen, but know just enough about his personal life to know I do not want to know more about it, lol.
